I dont care your fight with 'buddyinus' or your friendship with 'frankzulu' and whether you were travelling by air/car/ship - I would like to ask you a SIMPLE question.
You started this thread saying that USCIS has a "deadline" for completing stuffs last Monday or last last Friday.... All of us trusted you that time - Could you please give us a responsible answer or status Update.

I guess forum is all about sharing information that we gather from different sources. No body can assert anything not even USCIS. They open up the gate for all July filer, then closed it and then re-open it again when many protested. So, when someone shared the news that USCIS is not going to accept the july filings, everyone mocked him but that came out to be true.
Forum is all about sharing information. It depends on our judgement as how much we want to believe on that. Srikondji shared some information which he learned from the CRs, now it's up to you if you want to blindly follow that or use that information as a way to curb your anxiety.
People started cursing logiclife when he posted about the FAQ4 to be released by friday and it didn't. But it did came after 2-3 days. So someone who shared that info with Core might have just said we are trying our best to come up with FAQ4 and will release it by Friday and core shared that info with everyone. But that doesn't mean that people should take that info as if it doesn't come on Friday, it will be the end of the world and core should loose his credibility. FAQ4 did came after couple of days and all those people who were cursing logiclife were no where to be seen.
If you put up a clause that no-one should share the info, unless you have a word from God, I guess we'll not have more than 2 or 3 threads here.
So guys..bottom line is stop fighting over what someone said or not, concentrate on what you are doing about it.
As someone rightly said, "Listen to all but do what you think is right". There is similar adage in hindi but I'm not using hindi so that everyone can understand it.

With all due respect to you, simply calling the current core team to quit does not make any sense. IMHO, they have done everything they could. The one thing that everybody has to understand is the current political climate for an immigration debate is so bad that it has become the 3rd wheel in politics that no one wants to touch. We are a drop of water when compared to the sea of undocumented workers that are in the forefornt of this debate and nobody gives a flying jack about the employment based applicants whom both the left and the right don't want anything to do with. With such a hostile political climate, why would I vote for a new team who has no experience in the workings of Washington versus the current team's 3 year experience?

But, the big question is what are those strategies? let's say we have elections and elect new core team, how is that team going to change the way we lobby or the way we raise money or the way we get the message across?
The one thing I would do differently as a core team is to reach out to a big community based org like La Raza, for example, and learn their method of communication and their fundraising efforts and see if we can implement it here at IV (easier said than done).

The meeting really saddens me though. That is the extent of anyone's power to get USCIS moving? Just hinting to King that the congress is displeased?
I mean I'm pretty sure King is gonna just shrug it off. Listen to how deluded the man sounds. He thinks USCIS is doing a great job, what with all that bragging about efficiency. Obviously he doesn't realize he's standing there, in that meeting. because the efficiency he's bragging about is clearly NOT ENOUGH. In fact, it's pretty much shitty.
To make things worse, those people in there are controlling the fates of thousands of waiting applicants. And they don't even seem to know the difference btw H1 and 485.
I don't want to just go on feeding this negative train of thought. I just wish something more effective can be done. Isn't there a better solution?

You have to consider the scenario where both spouses have LC pending in PERM and BEC- and only one may have applied for 485. I'm just hoping people who have bought the LCs and tuned their work experience to suit available LC would be scrutinized strictly and would stay in I-140 stage longer.
Out of the 144k perm, FEW have 2 labors (1 in eb3 and another in eb2). Also many have labors in BEC as well as PERM (THIS IS QUITE A LOT). So the total real applicants combined from BEC and PERM could be around 200k. Not all the dependants (kids) need EAD. Not all the primary applicants apply for EAD. The total approximate EAD applicants could be 350K.
ALSO, ONE THING YOU HAVEN'T CONSIDERED...As the priority dates are unavailable until october and the expected slow movement of the 2008 bullettins(because they have the count of pending applicants now), there will be only very few EAD applicants in next few months. How ever, all these applicants will re-apply every year...they they can expect this same load until they provide a relief to issue visas to everybody.
Note: Next year..expect the same delay for renewal.

Require 3/5 majority) HR.2669 is passed by both Senate and house and sent for conference to resolve the difference between house and senate versions and president is sure to sign the bill and thus would become the law in another few days. This amendment does not have anything to do with defence bill or with SKILL bill. Following is the actions taken by congress of HR 2669.
IF THE AMENDMENT HAD PASSED WE WOULD HAVE GOT ATLEAST 240,000 RECAPTURED, UNUSED VISAS OF PREVIOUS YEARS IN ANOTHER FEW DAYS.

No. It is true to some extent that we are paying more taxes.
Take my case for an example. My kid is not an American citizen. She moved with us when she was a baby and currently under H-4 status. So she could not obtain social security number that is good for "authorized to work". Without the SSN, we were not eligible for certain child tax credit, which was hundreds of dollars. I tried an ITIN but I got a formal response from IRS that the child still needs to have a SSN to be eligible for the credit.
If you ever filed your tax return yourself and have a kid, you will know what I mean.

Rather, you should ask, employee-petitioned H1 transfer in adition to Employer-petitioned H1 transfer. What say you?
Ans 1) Fairness...H1-B transfer becomes a reality...One can look for better Job oppurtunities...otherwise why even allow H1-B transfer when there are hidden GC related problems.
Ans 2) It should be applied to new AOS applications only.
